Group Therapy is a great way to support you to work on individual and relational difficulties within a group space which occurs weekly. This approach supports the idea that many of our beliefs and actions are outside our conscious awareness and uses the group to promote insight and deepen understanding of the nature of human relating and our own experiences. In this way, each individual can gain relief from difficulties and be supported to enjoy a better quality of life through the group. In addition to exploring their own individual concerns, the work of group uncovers the significant impact of social influences such as gender, class, race and culture.
Therapy is a very personal journey and depending on what you want from therapy, the approach best suited to support you may vary. Some individuals want to try a specific approach, others are open to the approach that best supports their goals. Clinical Psychologists are trained across multiple models of therapy and therefore are able to draw upon different therapeutic approaches depending on what you need from the therapy process. This supports you to be able to work on a range of difficulties within one therapy space. A free telephone consultation can support you to see whether Prosper Psychology is right for you, and an initial assessment session supports us to plan therapy to meet your needs.
